A friend of mine is taking Steriod tablets for 5 days for his lungs?

I know this is pretty serious but does anyone have any other info on this. He has inflamed lungs/asthma and the doctor gave him these tablets as he cannot fight this off himself

When a person has a serious inflammation in his respiratory system, it is common practice to prescribe a steroid medication. This doesn’t mean your friend will go into " roid rage". The steroids will bring the inflammation down quickly and allow your friend to help heal. He was probably also given some inhalers to use. I hope he gets better soon.

There are a lot of steroid drugs and loads of people take them all the time. Anabolic steroids to enhance muscle growth are the drugs that are frowned upon; Hydrocortisone cream you may use to stop an itch is a steroid, as is cortisone which is often used to stop joint pain. Unfortunately the news media abbreviates terms and so call anabolic steroids simply "steroids" as if it is a bad thing. No, just the ones that cause excess muscle growth. Many people use steroid drugs daily to have a better quality of life. In your friend’s case, his steroid drug reduces inflammation and will help him get better faster.

duno i had steriods ta bulk up from ta doc na a clu bout ta lungs

The steriods will do the trick just let them run their course only side effect is possible weight gain.
