Any body had a steriod injection for pain?

Posted on | August 31, 2009 |

I’m getting steriod injection for extreme pain in my knee after two surgeries, and I’m wondering if anybody knows anything that will make the injection hurt less, or an alternative to it. I’m already taking Glucosamine Chondroitin.

I had one of those one time and, regardless of what you think getting a needle always hurts because you are having a substance put into your blood stream. It only hurts for a couple of minutes and then the pain goes away. It is almost instant.

I have had cortozone injec for a torn ligament in my shoulder. It was a instant cure. The burning went away instantly. You can only have 3 injec per year however, but it is a good thing when nothing else works.

Had it, would recommend it before surgery.
Injection is nothing compare to the surgery.
Surgery cost lots of money. Shot is less expensive and hurts less.

I had a bone spur in my heel and sufferered for the longest time.
The pain was just so exchruciating that when I went to see the Dr. I didn’t care if they cut my foot off. I did expect to leave the Dr. office with no pain after the injection, but I walked out crying with the original pain I had in the first place. Within a week I was totally pain free and have not had a problem since then and that was 8 yrs. ago.
