Can I tell my doctor without him being allowed to tell anyone?
Posted on | June 29, 2010 |
I use testosterone enarnthe and I wanted my blood levels checked. I know my blood pressure is always 10 points high top and bottom while on cycle. My colesterol is what I wanted checked. Also I wanted my testosterone and estrogen levels checked (my buddy has great insurance and he had to pay extra for the hormone levels). If I tell my doctor I am on a cycle can he legally tell anyone? I know that there will be some people in this section that is in transgetion so figured you might be able to help me out. The testosterone kills my sex drive too oddly enough. Even when I took the good testosterone boosters otc I had the same effect. I think its the estrogen levels that cause it. I have anti-estrogen and estrogen blockers so I need to know what the levels are so I can adjust to proper dosage to counter higher levels of estrogen. If I told my doctor would he help me with getting a full panel and is he obligated to tell anyone?

i think your gonna have a problem with the doctor, yeah… if you are using illegal steroids he’s not going to want to treat you… before you see a doctor you have to inform the office of what meds your on… just tell the truth, you may get a doctor that will help, if not, move on to the next one…
better yet,,, QUIT USING!

Basic medical ethics say he has to maintain your medical privacy.
If I told my doctor would he help me with getting a full panel and is he obligated to tell anyone? ( No only answer medical needs questions if your insurance refuses to pay or cover a claim.
Check your insurance that’s the only weak link i can think of but i’m not a specialist
Just read the brochure they give everyone to see explaining your privacy rights.

The doctor can’t tell people what you tell them unless they think what you told them could result in someone getting hurt. If you think the doctor might tell someone, remind them that they took a hippocratic oath, part of which dictates doctor-patient confidentiality.

doctors and nurses are bound by a code of ethics and are not allowed to mention anything, except if it to do with something illegal;a gun- shot or a stabbing wound.
