Describe the effects of plant hormones on plant growth and development. Design an experiment to demonstrate the effect of one of these plant hormones on plant growth and development.

Well one of the well known experiments on plant hormone and growth is the hormone auxin. Auxin functions in phototropism and gravitropism to an extent. When a part of a plant stem is shaded, the auxin accumulates in the shaded part and loosen the cell walls there. When the cell walls are loosen they elongate. When one side elongate and the other side that is exposed to the sun doesn’t, the plant will look like it’s curving towards the sun. Planning an experiment for that is a bit more complex. You can maybe try to recreate one of the classic experiments. Or you can just test the effect of ethylene on fruit ripening. If you take a banana or mango and put them in a bag, overtime the fruit will ripen.
