How am I going to explain to my Poodle this whole Alex Rodriguez steroid scandal?

I don’t want her having false hopes about the morality of her favorite baseball players, but at the same time I don’t want to crush all of her heroes either.
Have you talked to your dog about this whole A-Roid steriod positive test? How did they handle it?

I shelter my dogs from such things - they are too noble and high minded to think such bad things about humans and I don’t want to shatter their illusions.
Clearly this guy is not worthy of admiration or nearly as good as his dog thinks he is. No reason for anyone else’s dogs to have their illusions about the goodness of humans shattered.
I don’t tell them that Santa Claus isn’t real either.

I feel for ya. I think honesty is the best policy. Go ahead and tell her (in age appropriate terminology of course). Reinforce there are still good guys out there as well. Good luck.

i feel your pain, we just got over having to explain to buster why michael phelps was doing bong-hits.
just sit your poodle down and explain as frankly and honestly as you can. answer any questions he may have, he is sure to be disillusioned.
perhaps you could pop in a dvd of the old "lassie" tv show, just to soothe the hurt your dog is feeling and give him someone else to look up to.

poodles are understanding and will take it with a grain of salt. my chihuahua like it she always growled at the bum when she watched.
