How can I gain weight evenly around my body with a fast metabolism?
Posted on | March 15, 2010 |
I’m 17, 5 feet 11 inches and 130 lbs. I am super skinny, you can see my ribs and when I extend my arm, my elbow is bigger than my muscle. So my question is, what kind of diet and what kind of workout can I do to gain weight and be a litter more muscular looking?

Have you ever noticed how sprinters are muscular but marathon runners are not? Sprinters basically use interval training - short burst of running fast followed by short rest periods. Marathon runners run long at a slow pace. Interval training increases growth hormone production in the body. Distance running, or long bouts of aerobic exercise, decrease testosterone and increase estrogen.
Working out with weights will help, as especially if you can take a protein shake before and after working out. Your body needs protein to repair the damage. Take a calcium supplement and also consume a carb after working out. A high quality diet is also important. And be consistent when working out. Building muscle is a slow process.
