How does someone with a fast metabolism gain weight?

Posted on | September 7, 2010 |

Tried everything. Increasing calorie intake. Eating food with lots of carbs. Specialized stuff to actually make you gain weight and nothing at all. Never gain a pound.

Help?
Please please don’t either send me some automated acai berry message or tell me to go eat some mcdonalds.

I want to weigh more, not be fat and unhealthy.

Check out fitin2shape.com/wordpress. It shows what workouts to do and what to eat to gain weight.

I think the best way for you is to increase carb/protein intake, and lift some weights and do some cardio and increase your muscle, which then increases your weight. (muscle weighs more than fat)

Clearly you didn’t increase your calorie intake enough. You may need to eat an extra 1000 a day or so. And while you’re at it, do strength training exercises; there is no reason for you to put on fat, and adding muscle will increase your health drastically.

You will gain fat weight as long as you do not burn up all the excess calories. If you looking to gain weight that isn’t fat weight, then start building your muscles. Muscle weight is heavier than fat weight though. Increase protein intake to help the formation of more muscles and make sure you work out often.

if you have a problem with gaining weight you will be stirred to addicted synthetic drugs emulating what cannabis does in a bad way, if you want to gain weight and not be tired about it try cannabis in food form, sativa genetics not indica, indica only makes you hungry and sleepy, sativa is lively and active as well., cocaine addicts love sativa becuase it heals their addictions, cannabis is a ANTI ADDICTIVE substance, you can not physically get addicted to THC or over dose or even nearly trip on the plant nearly as much as mushrooms or flowers in your garden like morning glory which are dangerous.

Well you need to hit hard supplments and training. Mass gainers will work but you probably need to get more carbs and sugars in your protien shakes to make a difference. Dextrose and Waxy maize are the best carbs for weight gain. Here is an article about gainer mass.

    Eat large meals less frequently.

Eat about three times a day and pack on the calories. I am talking seven course meals. Eat a big breakfast, a big lunch, and a big dinner. Before you go to bed, eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or something.

This will take a while for your body to get accustomed to it, but in about 2-3 months you will start to have the problem most of us have, fat.

I’ve been built like a twig all my life. I’ve tried everything to gain weight, and pretty much nothing worked. I have finally found a routine that has me gaining weight at a steady pace. Like you i have a very fast metabolism, and this is the only thing to ever work for me. It’s not tasty, but it really works. Basically I have two daily sources of serious protein…

I start my day off with about 1.5 cups of pure egg whites mixed w/ some v-8 juice. This is my main source of protein. The egg whites I buy pre-seperated in cartons. The v-8 is just a strong flavor that covers up the taste of egg whites… plus it’s really healthy! I always hated v-8, but after the first week i just got used to it and don’t mind it at all anymore.

Then in the mid-day or evening I’ll have a half-scoop of protein shake powder (vanilla flavor). It only really mixes well w/ water, so i stir it up into a bit of water first, then I top it off w/ orange juice… since protein powder always tastes crappy. they try to cover it w/ vanilla flavor but it’s sorta funky. However, w/ the orange juice it taste sort of like orange creamsicle. Don’t use the protein powder more than once a day though, or it’ll constipate the heck out of you.

While you’re trying to gaining weight, it’s also important to get at least moderate exercise a couple times per week. People w/ fast metabolisms may not be able to gain fat, but they can gain muscle mass. That doesn’t mean you have to get buff. Working out just moderately will make you more meaty without getting too muscular.

Working out without enough protein will do nothing for weight gain. Also lots of protein without exercise to turn it into muscle mass will do very little for someone w/ a fast metabolism. You have to have both protein and exercise.
