Posted on | August 1, 2010 |
I’m eating right and everything, but its so hard for me to gain weight.
What foods out there are high in calories that I could eat to gain weight?

Coconut milk and coconut cream — pure saturated fat. Eat Thai food for a month and you’ll stack on the kilos!! Do you really want to put on fat?? Carob is very calorie-dense as well. Peanut butter — also saturated fat. Avocados have lots of unsaturated fats. Eat lots of seeds and nuts — lots of oils. Sunflower seed bread, that kind of thing. You *could* eat heaps of fried food, but you don’t want to have a heart attack as well. I guess you could go for vegan protein shakes (there must be some if you google it) — they usually have heaps of calories. Or just very sugary things in addition to your normal diet, like fruit juices and stuff — loads of calories there. Dark chocolate has more than you think as well. But if go the sugar route, don’t forget dental hygiene.
This is all completely freaking me out. I’ve never given advice on how to gain weight before!

Try something like a Caprese salad with more cheese (if you allow yourself cheese):

just eat rice with gravy . the glucose produced by digesting the rice makes you ask for more when you use that sugar. then your body craves for more glucose that come from digesting the starch in the rice

Its very easy. Just increase your portions slightly. Snack on nuts between meals. Eat more whole grain carbs. Say you usually have about 1/2 cup of brown rice, make it 3/4. Make your sandwich fillings more plentiful, eat a meal (such as a pb&j sandwich and the milk of your choice) before going to bed.
