Posted on | August 31, 2009 |
I eat alot but I also move alot! So, everything I eat burns because I always play football and run and stuff like that… I really like sports and don’t tell me to stop doing it, but how can I gain weight when my metabolism is really fast? What are your advices other than body building and lifting weights?

To gain weight and bulk up, you have to be willing to do whatever it takes, and work as hard as necessary and you have to be consistent. Your body responds to consistency. Sometimes it may get to the point of obsession, but it has to be that way for you to reach your goal.
Here’s some basic how to gain weight information and things you should be doing to help you bulk up:
To gain weight you must eat more calories than your body burns off, so EAT MORE! The most important thing that I cannot over stress is that you need to eat to gain weight. You need to eat like you’ve never eaten before. (but not junk food like donuts and chips or candy). In other words, you need a weight gain diet.
Start eating six meals per day (space them out to about once every three hours). This is a weight gain diet used by those who know what they’re doing.
Increase your protein intake and reduce your simple carbohydrate intake. Without protein your body cannot build new muscle.
Keep your workouts under one hour. Short and intense!
Concentrate on free weight exercises that work the large muscle groups. The best weight training exercises for building mass are the simple ones. For mass, stick with compound free weight exercises like squats, deadlifts, bench presses, barbell rows, pull ups and bar dips.
Use heavy weights and low reps, rest 3 minutes between each set.
Do only 2-3 exercises per body part.
Split your workout. Since you have a very high metabolism like me, you need to train with more intensity, but less frequently.
Day 1: Chest, shoulders and triceps
Day 2: Rest
Day 3: Back, and Bicep
Day 4: Rest
Day 5: Legs and abs
Day 6: Rest
Day 7: Rest
Increase you water intake. A good formula for this is to multiply your bodyweight by .66 to get the required number of ounces per day.
Use nutritional supplements. If you can’t afford too many products, just stick with the basics; like whey protein. If you can’t afford whey protein the next best thing is egg whites.

Get more meat on your bones. More protein.

Start drinking those high protein shakes? Maybe that would help.

Just be glad you can stay slim. Maybe as you get older you will put on weight. In the meantime, eat lots of chocolate and enjoy it!

eat less times a day, eating one time a day should definitely slow down your metabolism, if thats what you want …

Gain weight? If you gain weight you wont be as fit as you are now, but if you mean build muscle, and you dont want to lift weights…I don’t know what to tell you.
Just eat lots of breads and pastas, get the carbs built up in your body.

First I am going to say that you should eat normal foods not just mounds of junk ffod in order to gain weight and another good tip is to eat your food in concentrated amounts not over the course of the day. Another tip is that you should eat before going to sleep. When you are sleeping your metabolism slows down and doesn’t allow you to burn food causing you to gain weight

Eating foods rich in carbohydrates and protein can help. Still, you have a genetic body design and you will only grow to be just so large and muscular.
Body builders and professional athletes use steroids (usually illegally) to overcome their natural limits in muscle growth. Steroids are dangerous to your physical health and can affect your emotional and mental state as well. For a million-dollar-a-year football player, that might be an acceptable risk. For an ameteur athlete, it doesn’t make sense.

You want to gain muscle, not fat right? I’m assuming you want to gain muscle weight. The best, healthiest and fastest way would be to consume more protein. Check out GNC. They have all sorts of weight gainers. From protein shakes, to protein bars. Good luck!

Enjoy it - when you turn 30 (ish) it will all change…I had the same issue and now I miss eating anything I wanted.

I am a lot like you. I eat a LOT but I never gain weight. I asked my health teacher and she told me to drink whole milk or other whole dairy products. When you reach your 30s, your metabolism will slow down and you will put on weight faster. Just enjoy being skinny now.

hmm.. the basic principle for putting on weight is to take in more calories than u spend.. so basically.. lets say an average man spends 2500 calories a day… and u.. being active in sports might be spending around 3000 calories.. therefore.. you need a diet with atleast 3500 calories a day.. and low fat.. if u want lean mass.. eat 3/4 of ur stomach atleast 4 times to a max of 6 times a day.. take protein supplements (weight gainer) with low fat… but high carbs..
i was 55 kgs and 6 feet.. 1 year later now i am 75 kgs with 14% body fat..
dont worry abt fat if u put on some. .reach ur goal + some excess and then do excess cardio.. and u will be in good shape.. you can check out bodybuilding.com

You must lift weights to build muscle and gain weight.
Eat an extra 300-500 calories a day. You can do this by adding a little bit more food to each of your regular meals, or snacking more often. Eat higher calorie foods and add more complex carbohydrates to your diet such as grains and beans, especially if you’re exercising more.

Hi,
I’ve tried so many different diets in the last 10 years that I can say now, they don’t work!
A few months ago, I came across a great product for weight loss and like many others I was skeptical about it. But I really wanted to lose weight and I tried it. The results were excellent and I lost 20 pounds in 2 months. I felt fantastic and I dropped another 5 pounds safely. That’s why I recommend you check this product at
http://www.ezunderstand.info where they have a free trial and you only pay 6.95$ shipping and handling.
Good luck!
