I don't get periods. Help please?
Posted on | June 18, 2010 |
I’m 21. I’m on anti-psychotic medication and I haven’t had a period on my own since about July of 08. I’ve had 3 induced (with estrogen pills) periods since then. My doctors don’t seem too worried about the fact that I can’t have aperiod on my own and aren’t actively trying to help me. They haven’t done tests or anything. I’m afraid I won’t be able to have children, and they refuse to test me to see if I can until I’m married and ready to have children. I’ll be on this medication my whole life and I don’t see the situation fixing itself anytime soon. What should I do?
I also lactate because of my meds
Actually I’m a girl who really likes Dexter

Your doctors are slack. Do you live in the U.S? I dont know how it works over there, but I know that my doctor would help me as much as possible to make me happy. I believe they dont give it much thought cause they think your young and you’ll have plenty of time to ‘ovulate’ later in life. You need to see another Doctor. I knew a lady who didnt know she had PCOS untill in her mid 30’s and once she came to Australia (which is where I live), then she was treated and is unable to have children. You need to find possible answers as to why you arnt getting your period. Do some research on your medication and see the side effects. Maybe going on the pill will help but it cant effect your medication. Ask another Doctor.
