Implanon vs pill question…?
Posted on | August 31, 2009 |
I switched from Apri to Yaz last year because my obgyn thought I was still having periods that lasted too long. It hasn’t improved, and I’ve been having way more migranes on Yaz than Apri. I’m really interested in trying Implanon, as it is anti-estrogen and would help keep everything "even" but my doctor doesn’t offer it. Should I try to get a consult at another clinic, or would Implanon be bad for someone with long lasting periods.
can i get mirena if i have not had chi, dren?

Are you sure you want Implanon? one of the first thing i would let you know if you were going to get implanon is that unpredictable bleeding is prevalent for the first 6+ months for most women. If you have longer periods, implanon will most likely not help with that. I would however recomend a Merina IUD. It does have estrogen but for most women their periods become lighter and almost non existent with in 3 months.
Actually you can get Merina if you’ve never had children. The company has recently changed its policy to allow nuliparus women to get an IUD. The main reason for no allowing women to get it was that they wanted to be sure that you didn’t blame them if you were unable to conceived at a later date.
