As you probably know, the most common pro-hormone supplement is testosterone. When you take a pro-hormone supplement like a test booster (testostrone booster), you gain a lot of muscle and mass. These increase the amount of test in your system by a large amount, thusly, your body will try to balance out the new large amount of test by creating a large amount of estrogen. however, when you finish with your cycle of test, the estrogen is still being produced at large quantities. In order to conteract this, you must take a PCT, or Post Cycle Therapy. This not only cleans your system, and lowers your test levels to normal, it aso inculdes a estrogen blocker so that your body doesn’t overflow with estrogen…and become unbalanced hormonaly.
As to your other question, no, you will not lose what you worked for. The pro-hormone supplements like test help you build muscle, once that muscle has been made, you just have to keep lifting reguarly to keep it!
    A little additional info.
If you are looking to takea test booster, which I would recommend if you are looing to gain not only a ton of strength, but a huge amount of muscle, I would recommend 2 supplements that I have tried and fully back. The first being, Animal Stak. This is a mild test booster, and is taken in pill form. The second being 1-andro sterone. This is completely legal, contrary to the intimidating name. 1-andro sterone is made by muscle tech (I believe). This will require a PCT that muscle take makes special for 1-andro sterone. 1- andro sterone is very effective, and in my opinion is the best out there.
