really important question regarding steriod tablets and alcohol!?

OK! i have a mineral deficiency which makes my blood pressure drop very low which makes me prone to fainting and have just been put on fludrocortisone (steriod) tablets, i take a very very small dose and i am going out on friday night, (students and all that!!), but i was actually wondering if i can drink alcohol whilst on these tablets? any idea’s?

I don’t think there will be a problem, but it’d be easier for you to phone your GP surgery and ask your doctor for advice.

No. Don’t mix alcohol and steroids. It can upset your immune system. Stick to orange juice and get drunk on the company.

Look at the medication insert handout that came with your medication and see. Otherwise, call the pharmacy where you got the medicine and ask them.
