Posted on | October 29, 2009 |

I want to buy something to take that is not only healthy for me but also will help me gain weight and muscle. I do exercise regularly, and eat somewhat healthy, every time I open up a men’s magazine, I find some type of weight gainer, or powder that helps you gain muscle. Is there anything out there that REALLY works, price is not an options, Im a very slim guy and looking to gain alot of muscle within a year.

    Hi friend,

Im a girl and would love to be you. Firstly i would love to be able to enjoy chocolate all day and not feel guilty. LOLs, but no im a healhty slim fit person.

Ok, firstly. How old are you, if your going through puberty, you really shouldnt be doing weights, as this can stunt your growth. You want to be as tall as you can be. Also, you may not be gaining weight at this stage because even if your consuming alot of food, your body is putting it all into growth.

But if your not read on.

    Secondly, EAT, EAT, EAT!
The adverage male needs around 2500 calories a day (this is = to roughly 27 slices of white bread) luckily if you eat foods that a dense of calories. ie rich. You dont have to eat as much to gain the weight.
to gain weight the formulae is: food in - excercise & living = surplus and therefore weight gain.
Since you want to be healthy while also gaining weight, i recommend, the regular vegetables and fruits and wholegrains with meat. (balance diet still)
But LOTS more of it. You could eat dry fruits instead of fresh also, their more calorie dense which helps you pack weight. You could go crazy with junk food, but their really gonna shot your cholesterol high.
Try to eat 6 meals a day instead of the regular 3. or have 3 large meals and 3 large snacks. Tip# use bigger plates or bowls to fill your food. You can even grease your bread with more spreads than you usually would, add more dressings to your food. This is all little things that help you gain more weight. If you add a table spoon of olive oil to all your meals, you can be gaining weight faster, this is a good fat that wont clog your arteries which also provide you with loads of calories.

If you want to gain more muscles, you should follow strength training at least 2 times a week. Preferable every second day, as you need one day rest for your muscles to recover. On these days, you should eat high protein foods. Meat, Nuts, Eggs. You could even take protein shakes, this will help your muscles to recovery more quickly and build on the muscles. You can do try craking a raw egg in every morning with milk and you can add cocoa if you dont like the taste.

    I hope that helps.

argh fcking spammers. anyway, whey protein is beneficial to drink after a workout. obviously check you arent allergic to the ingredients etc but all it is, is a more concentrated form of protein and is safe.

though gaining muscle is gaining weight, as muscle weighs more than fat. just need to hit the gym and starting lifting.

    Hi Dayan!

The best way is to gain muscle (therefore weight) is to alter your body hormones and trigger the release of HGH (the muscle growth hormone). My roommate was 120 lbs and after 6 months on this shake he was 185lbs and really cut. He was going to the gym only 3 times a week. Lifting weights helps shift your hormones to HGH.

This is the stuff he was taking, it’s called Massive Muscle Gainer http://www.iherb.com/MRM-Massive-Muscle-Gainer-Chocolate-27-Servings-10-lbs-4-540-g/7027?at=0 I would say get 1 and gauge the taste because if you can take it (it’s a good chocolate taste, he really loved it) then you will grow and your muscles get big. Use the code HAW031 [copy/paste] at checkout and they will give you $5 off. If you buy 4 at a time, it’s an extra $6 off, just make sure you like it before commiting to a big quantity. You most likely will not see much results with the first container, but the stuff is already working to alter your metabolism and shift your hormones.

Please bear in mind the first month is slow gain because it’s when the hormones do the shift. It took him 3 mos before he was satisfied that he was gaining but then it was a steady muscle gain for him, effortlessly..

Please be careful of the erroneous news media and their lies when it comes to food. Please do your research. Eggs & bacon was what he ate regliously for breakfast and red meat every day. (it’s up to you) And no, it does NOT raise bad choleterol. That was my diet for a year and my cholesterol was low. Saturated fats actually make muscle grow and I can say that’s true because when I was on the diet (not the shake) myself I was able to tone & firm. (For more info on good saturated fats, and the health benefits of red meat, and also the lies about cholesterol go to Weston A Price.com. they have solid info and I’m speaking from experience on the diet here.) I didn’t gain weight myself, just firmed & toned up, I didn’t drink the shake. But of course muscle is heavy, I didn’t weigh myself, I never do, but I looked good! :) I have never been this hard in my life, not even when I was working out. (I only did the diet and no exercise)

I would also recommend at this point to stay away from cardio/aerobic since this leads to fat/weight loss. Lifting weights (working out) does have enough of an areobic effect for guys like you that you don’t need to take up anything else until after you get big, if you want to. No running! That will counter act your effects.

If you’re not able to work out, the amino acids still work to alter your hormones, you will see change but it will be slower. I forgot to say that when you buy over $60 at iHerb they knock off an extra 5%, and the product is already discounted a whopping $30 from its retail price PER BOTTLE! (iHerb is a huge & reputable vitamins & supplements discount retailer )

I hope this helps. Happy gaining! :)

Adding lean muscles is definitely the best way to gain weight. But, the type of exercise you do decides whether you gain muscles or not. You didn’t specify what you do, so I assume you are referring to weight training. If that’s the case, congras! You’re on the right track.

To gain muscles, you need to subject your muscles to loads which they are not used to, so that they have reasons to grow. Therefore, training hard is essential.

For tips on how to put on quality weight and muscles, check out: http://gainmusclesnweight.blogspot.com/2009/03/tips-on-how-to-build-muscles-and-gain.html. The website also has a number of articles on how to put on weight and build muscles that are worth reading.

Besides putting the tips into action, you can also try out supplement like Cyto Gainer. It’s one of the most popular mass gainers used by many people. I’ve some pretty good results after consistent use. It mixes easily and contains high quality proteins and complex carbohydrates. The taste is acceptable though not great.

But, it’s important to continue with your weight training while taking Cyto Gainer, otherwise you may end up gaining fats instead! That’s definitely not the type of weight you ever want to gain.

I used to take the supplement once a day. On training days, I take it twice a day. I don’t follow the recommended serving because I find it too much for me. (I halve the serving). Your mileage will definitely differ.

    Good luck for your endeavor.

you grow in the kitchen not the gym…if you’re eating properly to support your goal you won’t need to drink protein….i personally do not see a whole of results from supplemented protein in anybody…rely on chicken and fish for your protein.
