Why do people gain weight and look unattractive after marriage? How much is it related to losing virginity?

Posted on | September 8, 2010 |

Is it true that once people find a partner, they become so relaxed that they gain weight and become unattractive as they dont have to attract anyone else. Is the reverse true i.e. people who look unattractive are not virgin and they already have a stable partner?

Personally I think that it is allot like you already pointed out. Once people have been in a serious relationship for a while they just let themselves go health and looks wise. No need to look good anymore since they are already in a relationship. The other side of the coin is that (if they are married and have kids) they might simply just not have the time to look after themselves as they would have when single. It has nothing to do with virginity at all, look at me, I’m still the handsome beast I was 10 years ago :-D

Mostly they relax and get lazy in their security. As an Exercise Physiologist (41 years old), I have discovered this actually is more a problem for men as they age then women. Men tend to think their wives won’t stray. I have several female friends who have used their husband’s weight gain to go and find someone ‘a bit more satisfying physically’.

Mostly unattractive people don’t realize (or don’t care) they are unattractive because no one has told them or they are happy to have any relationship at all.

Sex is good exercise, and keeps you in shape. Unfortunately, for some the "flirt" is gone, and they let themselves go.

id say yes to a certain degree but not everyone it all depends on the type of person you are. id say some people do this but not all by far. theres plenty of people out there who are virgins and look like shit and there is also plenty of people out there that are happily married and look after themselves all the time and there are people out there who only dont look after themselves not because they are happily married but only because they are un happy with thier marriage and so on…it all depends on what type of person you are if you ask me.

It has nothing 2 do with the outdated notion called ‘virginity’. When a hungry man gets food after many days, he gets a lot of satisfaction. Similarly, when a sex starved female gets regular sexual enjoyment, she is happy & it results in weight gain. If she leads a lazy routine it results in 2 much wt gain & the body takes an ugly shape, unless she does proper exercise.

WTF… Love isnt about looks, since they ALWAYS fade, its about heart. As we age our bodies find it harder and harder to burn calories, and hold onto fat..its a natural occurance, and I bet in 30 years you will look like hell, just like the rest of us.

After marriage you know that you can’t attract other people. so you don’t give importance to your appearance.
